KayLay Creations
Katie Leahy of KayLay Creations grew up just outside the city of Richmond, where she was immersed in a rich, artistic culture. Music, art, and poetry always called strongly to her from a young age.
At 21, she began to frequent local music venues with a worn and tattered sketchbook always in hand. This is when it first became clear how intrinsic the link between music and environment were to her work.
Eventually, the artist gained the confidence to pursue her passions, and a few years later in 2016 began traveling and live painting for music shows and festivals along the east coast.
Following a close call and long recovery from a car accident in March 2019, she further committed to her art career and left a salaried position at a desk job to make her dreams a reality. Katie now has not only live painted at an extensive list of events in various states and continues to do so, but also creates custom designs for bands, has displayed her work in several gallery shows, and is honored to be named the art director for a local Richmond restaurant.
