Lower New River Gorge
Our most popular trip ACE Adventure Resort offers in the summertime is the Lower New River Gorge. This trip features over 20 rapids in a deep canyon among house sized boulders and towering cliffs high on the rim of the gorge. Half day trips are the best option for festival goers as you can hit the water for two hours and get back in time for all the main stage acts. Sign up for a full day trip and spend more time swimming, surfing, cliff jumping and enjoy a riverside lunch. This is the perfect trip for both first time rafters and the whitewater fanatic.
Insider Tip: The smaller the boat the bigger the ride! ACE typically utilizes 14 foot/6 person rafts while the industry standard is a 16 foot/8 person raft. Wanna even bigger ride then sign up for our 12 foot/4 person boat and get the most extreme trip on the river.
Upper New River Gorge
Relax and take in the beauty of this beautiful scenery while floating down the New River. The upper section is the perfect river trip for kids 11 and under with a little bit of whitewater, some classic experiences like Jump Rock, and a whole lot of fun on the river. New for 2020 kids ages 6-11 raft for free with a paying full priced adult!
Insider Tip: Choose to paddle the Upper New in a ducky. A ducky is an inflatable kayak that you sit on top of so if it flips over you can just climb back on top. Our duckies are tandem too so you can paddle with a friend or your kids.
Summer Gauley Trips
Go big or go home you say? The Gauley River features our favorite trips and of course our most intense trips. Let us take you into this remote river canyon carving its path through narrow chutes and around giant boulders. You’ll experience steep and technical whitewater meaning there isn’t a whole lot of time for lounging around in the boat. The highlight of an Upper Gauley trip is getting to drop Sweets Falls, a 14-foot waterfall! During the summertime we will outfit you with the best craft for that days water levels. You may find yourself in a small raft with your best friends or paddling a ducky over Sweets Falls. No matter what boat you paddle Summer Gauley trips are something unique and special. Insider Tip: Come back for Fall Gauley Season. During September & October the Army Corps of Engineers schedules regular weekend releases on the Gauley River. These water releases create one of the top 10 BEST whitewater rafting trips in the world featuring 26 miles and over 100 individual rapids!
