Mountain Music Festival is West Virginia’s best music festival May 30th – June 2nd at ACE Adventure Resort. We are seeing a fury of excitement after last week’s announcement of Tyler Childers alongside a mix of fellow Kentucky Americana outlaws. Not to mention Saturday nights mountaintop party with The Floozies, Big Something, The Werks & more. We couldn’t help but throw a few more acts onto the lineup rounding out an epic weekend of music and adventure.
Andy Frampton
For the first time ever we are bringing a few comedians to the mountain including West Virginia boy Andy Frampton. Funny enough this idea came about from Andy’s fans who flooded us with Facebook messages, emails, texts and even phone calls telling us that they “demanded” Andy Frampton. How could we say no?
Andy’s comedy is a menagerie of subjects from personal stories of his life and upbringing to detailed diagnosis of the unemployment problem in the world of The Muppets. He has done work in Lexington KY, Chillicothe OH, and towns in WV such as Huntington and Sutton just to name a few. He has successfully put on shows over the last two years at EZ Street Café and has been a part of Lee Hale’s Showcase at Timothy’s.
Ian Lutz
Another comedian we couldn’t say no to was Ian Lutz. Ian is a West Virginia native who cut his teeth for several years in the Las Vegas comedy scene. He’s performed clubs and comedy festivals around the U.S. and brings a unique and gritty story-telling style of comedy to the stage. Catch him on the Strange Stage in the campground Friday afternoon.
Andrew Adkins
No stranger to ACE Adventure Resort is Summersville native Andrew Adkins. After seven years of fronting the popular Appalachian Stompgrass band The Wild Rumpus at countless festivals, concerts and clubs including Merlefest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots, and the AMA (American Music Association) as well as writing all of the songs for their 3 studio albums, Andrew has now firmly established his own voice with the release of his 4th solo album. “Who I Am” on Mountain Soul Records.
Paul Johnson & Corey Lee McQuade
Paul E Johnson and Corey Lee McQuade have been performing together for over two decades. They have been entertaining MMFest fans since the festival kicked off in 2014 and will be back on the main stage Friday night this summer. Paul would often play the mountaintop main stage as a tweener set, keeping the music flowing non-stop. Moving between folk, bluegrass, blues and soul, Paul Johnson’s voice is versatile and emotive. Johnson looks like a mountain and sings like a man, and has got one of those voices that’s like a revelation. This is the sound of today’s Appalachian music.
