Lower New River – Full Day

With big rapids exciting enough for first-timers and challenging enough for whitewater veterans, it’s no wonder the Lower New River is our most popular West Virginia rafting trip. Without needing to rely on river levels set by a dam release schedule we raft the Lower New every day throughout the season!

  • 20 big-water Class II-IV+ rapids
  • Calm pools in between for lounging and swimming
  • Trip Length: 10.5 miles
  • Wild coal town history and gorgeous views
  • Riverside BBQ lunch (veg options available)
  • Minimum age: 9 years/min height 52″ for oar raft, with river levels up to 2 feet. Guests in 16′ paddle rafts must be a minimum age of 12 and minimum height of 56″.
  • Season: April-October

Lower New River – Half Day

From 9-year-olds to folks in their 80s, we’ve seen them all go down the awesome New River Gorge.Β TheyΒ come for the fun, to connect in the wilderness, or to learn a little wild and wonderful West Virginia history. We call these trips Rapid Runs and we you will get the best whitewater the New River has to offer but be back in time to catch all the best bands on stage!

  • Wild coal town history and gorgeous views

Upper New River – Full Day

The rapids on the Upper New River are perfect for newbies. Easy waves with just the right amount of splash. Perfect for families, young adventurers, and those who want mild rapids.Β 

  • Class I-III+ Rapids
  • Trip Length: 10.5 miles (All day)
  • Meals: Riverside Lunch
  • Minimum Age: 6
  • Season: April-October, 2016
  • *2017 Peak Days: Saturdays May 18 – Oct 22, May 28-29, Sept 3-4

Summer Gauley – Full Day

The Gauley River in summer is a powerful combination of water clarity, remote wilderness and a maze of boulders – like an epic journey, it’s very special, but it’s not for everyone. You need to be mentally prepared for the challenge and in good shape. Yes, you may swim; and yes, you may have the time of your life!

  • Class II-IV (V) technical rapids with house size boulders, waterfalls, sheer cliff walls and big drops
  • Trip Length: 12 miles (All day)
  • Meals: Riverside lunch at ACE’s private site (new menu and vegetarian options available if notified at time of booking)

  • Minimum Age: 15 and minimum height of 60″.
