SCENIC NEW RIVER MOUNTAIN BIKE – HALF DAY

Enjoy a fun half-day ride along the Southside Junction Trail, a National Park Trail at river level, and ride up to historic Thurmond and return to ACE Beach. After your ride we’ll be waiting to drive you back to ACE on the canyon rim above. *This is the easiest mountain bike trip we offer with great views of the river and historic landmarks.

This challenging all-day mountain bike trip takes you through the heart of the New River Gorge on 15 miles of moderate single-track and forest service roads. Finish your day on the banks of the New River where a shuttle will take you back to ACE.

Single track riding is some of the best trail riding there is and ACE instructors will help hone your riding skills, plus our guides know the best places to play and the absolute best views.

Arrowhead Trails

More than 1,000 members of the Order of the Arrow (OA), Boy Scouts of America’s national honor society, created this stacked loop trail system in the Craig’s Branch area. Four mountain bike loops, rated from moderate to difficult, await adventuresome riders. In one of the largest youth service projects in National Park Service history, the Scouts provided 78,544 volunteer hours, valued at $1.6 million, to build the trails in 2011.

MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTALS

Don’t want to pack your bike? Rent a bike from ACE. Our fleet was selected for durability, handling and comfort. Trained mechanics will select the right bike for your size and suggest on-premises trails to explore.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day we will offer a shuttle service, from the Welcome Center to The Bike Barn (located on the mountain top), every 3 hours starting at 9 AM (limited shuttles during Gauley season) This is a great way to explore our trails from the top down. You get to start your adventure at the Mountain top and return the bike at the Welcome Center. The shuttle is included with every rental or is $10 if you bring your own bike. Again, start at the WC and bike back to your vehicle or start at the Stables (bike down) and catch one of our shuttles back to your vehicle up top.

All rentals have a $10 per hour late fee.
